Located at 319 W, Houston St. in Floydada, TX, Liquor Shack, owned by Alfredo Perez, stands as a testament to entrepreneurial success. The journey commenced on May 4, 2023, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony orchestrated by the Floydada Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture. Alfredo Perez, alongside his wife, embarked on the venture after seeking startup assistance from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) on May 5, 2022.

Recognizing the importance of education, Perez actively engaged with the SBDC's workshops on topics like financing, business startup essentials, and accounting. Through one-on-one consultations with SBDC consultants, Perez meticulously implemented the steps necessary to realize his vision for Liquor Shack. This dedication and collaboration led to a noteworthy recognition from the SBDC during National Veteran Small Business Week. As a U.S. Navy veteran, Perez highlighted the role of military training in fostering resilience, comparing the uncertainties of entrepreneurship to a deployment. With the support of SBDC and Floydada's Economic Development Center, Perez successfully launched Liquor Shack, a journey celebrated in an article by the Floyd County Record. The SBDC proudly acknowledges Alfredo Perez as a shining success story, anticipating his continued achievements in the business world.
