Bethanie Schaefer, founder of Schaefer Studio 9, brings over a decade of dance experience and a passion for teaching to her venture. Trained extensively in various dance styles since childhood, including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop, Bethanie's dedication to dance was evident when she received her first scholarship at age 9 and later competed at Worlds with her hip-hop team, earning second place overall. Continuing her dance education through college, Bethanie's goal with Studio 9 is to offer a wide range of dance classes, with plans to expand into cheer, gymnastics, and competitive classes within a few years.

Studio 9 aims to create a welcoming environment for all ages, emphasizing inclusivity and a sense of family. Through classes tailored for children, boys, adults, and seniors, the studio seeks to foster personal growth and community involvement. With its location inside a local gym, Studio 9 aims to attract parents and engage in outreach projects within the community. Bethanie sought assistance from the SBDC for startup guidance and continues to utilize their services for further expansion plans, including securing additional funding. The SBDC looks forward to continuing their partnership with Bethanie for a successful and enduring business journey.
