Memori Jackson- Porch Perfect

Memori Jackson owns a pumpkin delivery business named Porch Perfect in Lubbock, Texas. The idea for the business came from the demand for her pumpkins after years of delivering them to friends and family. She sources the pumpkins from her family farm in Floydada, TX, known as Pumpkin Capital USA, and offers full-service pumpkin decorating, including pickup and recycling. Memori’s favorite part of the business is seeing the joy her pumpkins bring to families, like when a customer’s daughter was thrilled to find her porch filled with pumpkins, calling them the work of a "pumpkin fairy." The hardest part of the business for Memori is bookkeeping, as she prefers the creative aspects. Porch Perfect impacts the community by making neighborhoods festive, donating to local charities, and educating the public about farming. The business is unique due to its locally grown pumpkins and full-service approach. Memori has a background in teaching and was inspired by her husband's success in starting his own business. She advises her younger self to trust God's plan and try new things.

When asked how The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) contributed to her business, Memori shared, “SBDC has helped me become more confident in my business skills and has helped make my dream a reality. From helping me put a business plan together, to coaching me through marketing strategies, and connecting me with the right people at the right time, they have been an invaluable resource. Also, SBDC has been my cheerleader, encouraging me along the way. Lubbock is so lucky to have this free service and such talented people working with them. I appreciate the encouragement, expertise and ongoing education that they offer new entrepreneurs, like me. My business has been a huge success, and I owe a lot of it to SBDC. I am forever grateful for the SBDC.”
